STEAM America is participating in this year’s Northern Virginia (NoVA) Maker Faire! We’re really excited to be exhibiting our wearable technology theme. Our exhibit is entitled, “Tech Threads by STEAM America”. If you’re at the event, stop by our section. Aside from the cool wearable technology, you’ll be able to sign up for a chance to win a Nike+ Fuelband!
If you’re unable to make the event, no worries. We’ll be hosting a Google Hangout very soon there-after. Check back here or our Facebook page for more details.
When: Sunday, March, 16 2014 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Where: South Lakes High School and Hughes Middle School
What (are Maker Faires and how will STEAM America contribute): Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.
STEAM America’s, “Tech Threads by STEAM America” project will expose youth to the many facets of wearables and guide them in their application of the technology to create solutions to everyday problems. We begin with very simple projects and add complexity as we learn!
We look forward to seeing you there and at the Google Hangout!
